Dr. Rosie Lacivita
Dr. Lacivita, known to most of her patients as “Dr. Rosie,” knew she wanted to become a dentist ever since she was old enough to work alongside her father as his dental assistant. Being the daughter of a dentist, she showed interest in the dental field at a very young age. On the right track, Dr. Rosie graduated from York University with a specialized Honours degree in Human Biology. She continued her studies at the University of Western Ontario where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010.
Dr. Rosie is currently an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the York Region Dental Society. She is committed to lifelong learning and takes continuing education courses to keep current with new techniques and treatments. In addition, she continues to learn and educate herself through communication with other colleagues about current dental topics. Dr. Rosie is currently certified in the administration of nitrous oxide and oral sedation. She is also a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Rosie’s primary focus is prevention but she enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She has a special interest in pediatric dentistry and has been known to have a special touch when working with children. Dr. Rosie believes that participation in the dental community is key to maintaining a good dental practice. She continues to participate in community events to help increase oral health awareness. While pursuing her studies in London, she volunteered at the Western University Children’s Dental clinic and in dental outreach programs providing care to the underprivileged. She also spent one month doing an oral surgery residency program at the Goldman School of Dentistry in Boston.
Dr. Rosie believes that the key to a strong dentist-patient relationship lies in communication, kindness, and trust. She is looking forward to meeting her new patients in the East Gwillimbury area, and forming long-lasting relationships with each and every one of them.
Dr. Rosie grew up in Maple, Ontario and currently lives in Newmarket with her family. Dr. Rosie and her husband Derick welcomed the arrival of their first child on December 26, 2017: a little boy named Nico. In her spare time, Dr. Rosie enjoys being a mom, baking, dancing, and spending time with her big, loud Italian family.
Dr. Nick Lacivita
Dr. Nick Lacivita was born in Basilicata, Italy and grew up in Toronto, Ontario. He completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Math at the University of Toronto before being accepted to the University of Toronto Dental School in 1974. He graduated from the faculty of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978. The following year he opened his first practice in Weston, Ontario where he has since then, continued to be a respected dentist in the community for over 35 years. Dr Lacivita practices family dentistry, with a special interest in dental implant placement, surgical procedures, dentures and root canal therapy. He is committed to providing all his patients with exceptional patient care while maintaining their utmost comfort.
Dr. Lacivita firmly believes that participation in the dental community is imperative to maintain his practice. He continues his education in dentistry by attending various courses and conventions, and continues to learn and exchange ideas by communicating with other dentists about the current practice of dentistry. After over 30 years, his quest for knowledge continues, adding cosmetic, and implant dentistry to his repertoire to better serve the needs of his patients. In the summer of 2011, he travelled to Columbia to participate in an implant placement course where he became proficient in surgical implant procedures. He has a long term membership with the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, and the York Region Dental Study Club.
Dr. Nick Lacivita is very pleased to have his daughter Dr. Rosie Lacivita, join him in the practice of dentistry. Together, they combine time-tested experience with new ideas and techniques to meet all of your dental needs.
Dr. Lacivita is happily married with 4 beautiful daughters and a dog named Romeo. Outside of the practice, he has a passion for travelling and experiencing new cultures. In his free time, he also enjoys reading, playing squash, dancing and spending time with his very big Italian family.
Carol-Lynn (Assistant/Receptionist)
Carol-lynn has worked for DentalWorks since the doors opened in June 2012. She graduated from Everest College as a certified Level 2 Dental Assistant in 2012. Carol is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and eager to meet and care for all her patients. She loves working with the public and being able to build long-lasting relationships with them. She is also very good at helping people feel more relaxed and comfortable in the dental chair.
In June 2018, Carol married her high school sweetheart, Cody, in a small, rustic backyard wedding. She is settling into married life with her new husband and enjoys going for walks with their dog Tyson, painting, and crocheting during her free time.
